    6 of us arrived on a Friday lunchtime to such a friendly welcome we just had to leave a positive review. The lady behind the bar (landlady?) couldn't help enough, checking we were happy with everything and responding to any request with such friendliness that we felt right at home.

    The food was cooked fresh, was of a high standard and was good value for money. If we're ever back in Wells we'll be calling in.

    Ordered 3 menu of the day dishes and paid upfront only to be told 5 mins later they had run out!
    They could have wiped the board
    My elderly parents had fish and chips
    The batter was soggy.and undercooked and tasteless
    At least my steak was cooked rare as I asked
    Sorry but would not reccomend this place to anyone
